Where are the checks and balances?

Where are the checks and balances? In other words what really does the supreme court do? Section 2 states the judicial power shall extend to all Cases, in Law and Equity, arising under this Constitution. It is there to protect the country from tyranny either from the executive or legislative... or both. But when really do they step in? After the bloodbath? After 5 of the judges are arrested and replaced with marxists such as the last nominee?
I know you have read it before, but in the Declaration it states..."Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness."
The majority of people have spoken and rejected this progressive reform of health care. Congress sticks their noses up as 'they' know better. Destructive to the consent of the governed? Please tell me of a greater abomination than the speaker of the house and this congress. And please tell me of those more guilty of treason than those voting Yes last night. their vow to uphold the constitution is a LIE!
When will our supreme court say STOP. A suit needs to be filed now. Let's figure out if this is even allowed to be done by the federal government. I believe it is not. Regardless, 5 judges should be checking their brakes every day for  unwanted acorn or seiu  repairs.

  1. How is working to provide health insurance to all Americans unconstitutional Rattler? If you want to argue that if it's not in the Constitution it's unconstitutional then tell us that telephones and automobiles are unconstitutional. Tell Ike that his interstate highway system is unconstitutional.

    Your anger should be directed at the obstructionist republicans that fought to water down this bill so it did more to protect the profits of insurance companies than make health insurance affordable and available to all.

  2. Good morning Truth101. I have a pocket copy of the Constitution I would like to send you for reference. Telephones and automobiles I can not find either as a federally provided right. I do not owe you or anyone a car or cell phone. It's equal rights not equal things. It could be argued that the interstate freeways were needed for national security at one time. They should now be a state responsibility.

    The argument used by many is the constitution provides for public welfare. I disagree. In the PREAMBLE to it, it sates that '"in Order to" promote the general welfare' the Constitution is ordained and established. Promoting and mandating are 2 different things. My opinion of the feds role in health care... get the hell out of the way. Allow competition from state to state (a role it does have for making sure unencumbered interstate commerce takes place). A free market is not a bad thing as consumers will devour and destroy a bad companies service or product.

    Health insurance when I grew up paid for major medical only. We still paid for the doctor visit. But people now feel they need no deductibles for everything medical. (Hey, eat a few more veggies now and then) Why can't it be that way today?

    My disgust for republicans is probably on par with your except for different reasons.
